The primary role of the Engineering Lead is to steer the healthy progression of the engineering team. As an Engineering Lead focusing on Security Operations, your responsibilities encompass recruiting top-tier Engineers to support team expansion, nurturing team members towards their career aspirations, and championing processes that reinforce a high-performance engineering group. Your influence is crucial in shaping and enhancing Anchorage's culture, guiding and mentoring team members, refining the strategic path, and extending full support to our recruitment endeavors.
In the Security Operations domain, the Engineering Lead commands the imperative of cultivating a high-achieving security engineering team. You are expected to drive recruitment efforts for growth, create an environment geared towards high ownership mentality, and collaborate with the leadership to perpetually enhance our organizational structure.
In this role, you will refine the security roadmap, elevate operational excellence in vulnerability management and incident response, formulate a technology strategy for security automation, and leverage your authority to foster astute decision-making throughout the organization.

- A minimum of 8 years of technical expertise in security engineering or software engineering with at least 3 years in a formal leadership capacity

Requirements for this role include experience managing and growing a distributed security engineering team, hands-on experience in creating security infrastructure and monitoring systems, deep familiarity with fundamental security practices and tools, and the ability to script in languages such as Python, Go, or bash. An emphasis on prioritizing risk management, compliance, and solid decision-making skills rounds out the ideal candidate profile. Strong computer science fundamentals including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures are highly valued.
Not mandatory but beneficial qualifications include experience in applied cryptography, familiarity with leading standards and frameworks like OWASP, NIST, ISO27001, and SOC 2, expertise in regulated financial services environments, a passion for cryptography beyond cryptocurrencies, active involvement in staying updated on blockchain innovations, and a keen appreciation of the Hamilton soundtrack.
