Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards (US GAAP, IndAS, or IFRS)
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as consolidate financial data from multiple entities
- Assist with technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, consolidation, stock options, business combinations, and MTM accounting
- Manage jurisdiction-specific reporting, accounting, and compliances for legal entities
- Monitor intercompany balances, facilitate settlements, and manage transfer pricing arrangements
- Gain a deep understanding of the company's operations and settlement processes to support the trade operations and settlement team through reconciliations and attestation procedures
- Establish processes, policies, control frameworks, and other operational frameworks
- Coordinate with external auditors, audit committee, and relevant teams both within and outside of the organization
- Hands-on experience working with ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP)
Key Success Factors
- Help build in-house accounting and reporting capabilities, streamlining and consolidating finance and accounting processes
- Ensure real-time and accurate financial information is available to all stakeholders
- Manage legal entities' regulatory, statutory, management, and tax responsibilities and filings
- Collaborate closely with trading and trade operations teams, as well as external consultants, to maximize financial outcomes for the organization
- Adapt to the organization's growth phase and perform multiple functions such as accounting, treasury, settlements, and reporting
- Develop subject matter expertise in the accounting, reporting, and regulatory aspects of the industry we operate in
- Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage workload to meet internal needs
Required Qualifications
- Accounting graduate with a professional degree in accounting (preferably Chartered Accountant/CPA)
- 3-5 years of prior working experience in a similar industry (e.g., Banking, Broker-Dealer) and specifically within the trading division
- Experience managing end-to-end deliverables of legal entities, including transfer pricing arrangements
- Expert knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP reporting standards, and their application
- Proficiency working with ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP)
- Understandings of end-to-end trade flow and related dynamics (settlement, market-making, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel for finance-related tasks
- Enthusiastic, self-starter with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Willingness to continuously learn and be flexible in performing various functions
- Interest in fintech, blockchain, and digital assets
