About The Role

Immutable is undergoing rapid expansion through various revenue sources, entities, and product diversification. We are seeking a Head of Finance to enhance the financial foundations and oversee the core accounting function. This role will be responsible for group financial reporting, compliance, and enforcing financial controls.

The primary responsibilities include managing a lean team, driving the month-end procedures, audits, tax obligations, and overseeing financial systems. This position requires hands-on leadership to reshape operations as we continue to grow.

Ideal candidates should be qualified finance leaders with experience in dynamic, high-growth environments, ready to introduce structural enhancements where necessary.


Responsibilities

Empowerment areas for the Head of Finance at Immutable encompass:

  • Leading group financial reporting following IFRS standards, overseeing various financial activities including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end consolidation across multiple entities.
  • Managing statutory reporting across different jurisdictions and coordinating external audits yearly.
  • Handling all group tax requirements and compliance filings as per regulations (GST, FBT, PAYG, R&D, international tax).
  • Supervising and refining the financial systems of the group, including NetSuite and billing systems, ensuring accurate setup, data integrity, and reporting.
  • Developing and enforcing robust internal controls, accounting procedures, and risk frameworks.
  • Enhancing reporting efficiency, reducing close timelines (target: 5-6 business days), and enhancing data quality through process improvements and tools.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure precise accounting treatment for new ventures, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Leading and nurturing a high-performing team across controllership, treasury, and digital asset operations.

Requirements

We seek candidates who can bring the following to the role:

  • Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, or ACCA.
  • Over 5 years of senior finance experience, with a track record in overseeing group reporting, audits, and tax compliance.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS standards and proven experience in preparing consolidated financial statements.
  • Proficiency in managing external audits and multiple-entity statutory reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and a strong skill set in Excel.
  • Demonstrated capability in enhancing finance operations through tooling or automation.
  • Experience in high-paced, growth-focused environments like startups, scaleups, or tech companies.
  • Previous exposure to top-tier consulting or professional services.
  • A balanced 'player-coach' mindset that is equally adept at leading a team and diving into details.

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Exposure to Web3, cryptocurrency, or digital asset operations.
  • Prior experience managing billing systems and supporting B2B revenue models.
