The Role
We are looking for a dynamic Legal Associate to join our team and support our legal operations, focusing on compliance, contract management, and providing legal services to our Northern Hemisphere team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Know Your Business (KYB) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes to ensure compliance with industry regulations in the crypto sector
- Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, such as Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and service contracts
- Provide legal support to our Northern Hemisphere team, addressing time-sensitive legal matters across different time zones
- Offer advice on crypto-related regulations and emerging legal developments in the digital asset space
- Assist in developing internal legal policies and procedures
- Collaborate with different teams to address legal concerns and mitigate risks
- Monitor regulatory changes in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry
- Support compliance efforts related to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations
Qualifications
- Degree in Law from a reputable institution
- 2-5 years of legal experience, preferably in multinational organizations, trading, or financial services
- Familiarity with KYC/KYB processes and compliance in financial services
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Initiative and resilience to navigate fast-paced deal teams
- Willingness to work non-standard hours occasionally to support the Northern Hemisphere team
- Understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, and cryptocurrency regulatory landscape preferred
