Manager, Software Engineering
Job Summary:
Circle, a fintech company pioneering the evolution of digital value transfer globally, is seeking a dynamic individual to lead as part of their engineering team. The role involves proactive hands-on coding, team management, technical debt management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations of engineering teams, encompassing activities like requirements analysis, scrums, and team engagements.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance APIs, user experiences, services, and systems in accordance with company goals.
- Actively engage in coding tasks and support fellow engineers in technical aspects.
- Offer technical and architectural guidance for designing, testing, and maintaining the platform's infrastructure.
- Drive agile software processes, promote top-notch industry practices, and liaise with stakeholders to align deliverables with organizational objectives and timelines.
- Implement comprehensive team management practices to attract, engage, and develop exceptional engineering talent through mentoring and performance assessment.
- Serve as an internal advocate for the engineering team regarding technology's role in project development.
- Manage technical debt to sustain development pace and predictability while minimizing operational incidents.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a valuable member of the engineering management team.
- Coordinate activities in collaboration with various teams across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Possess over 3 years of technical leadership experience and more than 7 years of software engineering expertise.
- Have proficiency in coding with Go, Java, and/or Javascript for a minimum of 3 years.
- Experienced in designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable products and services.
- Must be hands-on in coding and exhibit a keen interest in coaching and developing leaders.
- Demonstrate cross-functional collaboration skills and a balanced approach to decision-making and trade-offs.
- Proven track record managing remote teams and thrive in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
- Passion for motivating and enabling individuals to accomplish their best work.
Additional Details:
- This role is eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for eligible candidates.
- Compensation ranges and packages consider various factors like experience, qualifications, and business needs.
- Base Pay Range: $182,500 - $240,000
- Annual Bonus Target: 15%
