Partnerships Lead, CoinDesk Media & Events (APAC)
CoinDesk is a well-established media company specializing in the global crypto economy, offering a wide range of digital assets and services since 2013. We deliver outstanding news coverage and valuable insights through our dedicated team of award-winning journalists. Our events division hosts popular annual gatherings like Consensus, the world's largest crypto festival, while our Indices sector provides expert digital asset indices and data to support and educate investors.
Job Opportunity
CoinDesk is in search of a dynamic business development and sales professional to drive the growth of our Media & Events sector in the APAC region. This role will focus on expanding our influence in key locations such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai, and Tokyo, considering the borderless nature of digital assets. As a key member of the Partnerships team, you will be responsible for managing existing client relationships, establishing new partnerships, and establishing a strong presence within the crypto and global investor communities in the region. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, results-oriented, and adept at building trust with clients.
This position will be based in either Hong Kong or Singapore, reporting to the Managing Director of Partnerships in New York.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to advance CoinDesk's presence in APAC as a global leader in crypto media and events.
- Manage and expand an existing client portfolio by offering top-notch customer service and solutions.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with startups and Fortune 500 companies.
- Serve as a knowledgeable representative of all CoinDesk products, including live events, digital media, podcasts, thought leadership, and research.
- Build a strong network and reputation to position CoinDesk for long-term partnerships by providing valuable insights and a focus on client ROI.
- Meet or exceed revenue targets while collaborating with the Global Partnerships team and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate sales data in Salesforce and other systems, while providing regular updates on pipeline improvement strategies.
- Travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in media or events sales within the crypto, global finance, or tech fields.
- Deep understanding and passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
- Proven track record in achieving business objectives and managing client relationships effectively.
- Established industry connections across the APAC region.
- Strong client relationship management skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, and G Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and professional proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and occasionally for longer periods.
