Payroll & Benefits Manager
We are seeking a skilled Payroll & Benefits Manager to take charge of end-to-end payroll processing, benefits administration, and vendor management for our global organization. Based in Mumbai, this role entails being the go-to expert and escalation point for all payroll and benefits matters in India, the US, the UK, and the UAE.
This position requires more than just coordination - you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery through third-party providers, overseeing benefits vendor relationships and renewal cycles, and fostering operational excellence in people systems and processes. Additionally, you will support audit activities, manage visa tracking for international relocations, US State filings and reporting, and act as a vital liaison between People, Finance, Legal, and external partners.
In a company with fewer than 100 employees operating internationally, expert knowledge and precision in payroll, benefits, and vendor management are crucial. You will be the trusted professional ensuring accurate employee payments, optimizing benefits programs, and enhancing vendor relationships for both cost and service quality.
Key Responsibilities - Global Payroll
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for India, US, UK, and UAE through third-party providers
- Review and verify payroll inputs, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with regulations
- Handle payroll schedules, reconciliations, reporting, and year-end processes
- Serve as the primary escalation point for payroll inquiries
Key Responsibilities - Benefits & Reward
- Develop and maintain relationships with global benefits brokers and providers
- Lead annual benefit renewals, cost assessments, and enhancements to benefit designs
- Supervise enrollment processes, changes, invoicing, and reconciliation with Finance
- Ensure effective administration of retirement and insurance programs
Key Responsibilities - Vendor & Compliance Management
- Manage relationships with payroll, benefits, HRIS, EOR, and other People vendors
- Monitor SLAs, negotiate contracts, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with regulations
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
Key Responsibilities - International Mobility & HR Operations
- Track visas and work permits, coordinate with immigration partners
- Support international relocations and address cross-border payroll considerations
- Preserve HRIS data accuracy, provide payroll and headcount reporting
- Collaborate with Finance on reconciliations, budgeting, and people cost projections
- Aid in employment documentation and broader People team duties
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience in managing multi-country payroll and benefits
- Proficient in global payroll compliance, taxes, and statutory regulations
- Demonstrated ability in handling third-party vendors and diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment
