Product Lead Counsel

Responsibilities
- Act as the global lead for legal aspects related to Binance's products, offering regulatory and legal advice throughout the product lifecycle, from development to ongoing operations
- Guide product teams on the regulatory impacts of new features, enhancements, and market expansions in various jurisdictions
- Assess and manage regulatory risks associated with Binance's product range, including spot and derivatives trading, digital assets, payments, and new sectors
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, compliance, risk management, and BD to integrate legal and regulatory considerations into product development processes
- Establish and uphold scalable compliance frameworks and controls to support growth in diverse regulatory environments
- Participate in product governance discussions to ensure a balance between regulatory compliance and business objectives
- Engage with regulators and external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions regarding product-related matters
- Remain informed about global regulatory changes and provide actionable guidance to product and business teams
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance regulatory awareness within the organization
Requirements:
- Must be qualified to practice law in a major jurisdiction with significant international regulatory legal experience
- Possess over 10 years of regulatory legal experience, preferably in-house at a technology, financial services, or cryptocurrency firm
- Profound understanding of global financial product regulations, including spot and derivatives trading, payment systems, and digital assets
- Track record of collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to influence product decisions
- Experience in handling complex regulatory compliance issues and interacting with regulators in various jurisdictions
- Ability to lead and scale legal teams across different regions
- Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of building solid relationships with regulators, business leaders, product teams, and external legal counsel
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Business acumen combined with a practical, solution-focused mindset
- Deep comprehension of the cryptocurrency industry and the evolving global regulatory landscape
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment managing multiple priorities
