Senior Backend Software Engineer - Scala (f/m)

Ledger Live is a versatile Desktop and Mobile application designed to manage all blockchain-backed assets. It is crafted using ReactJS (Electron on Desktop and React Native on Mobile), supporting multiple blockchains for both coins and NFTs, as well as offering various financial services such as buying, swapping, and selling digital assets.

Within Ledger's Consumer Services business unit, you will enhance existing transactional services and drive the creation of new solutions aimed at simplifying and securing consumer transactions in the crypto space.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust, high-performance microservices and APIs that power Ledger's products, including integrations with staking, yield, DeFi services, and blockchain explorers.
• Contribute to scalable solutions by actively participating in the architecture, design, and implementation phases, addressing technical challenges proactively.
• Ensure software quality through comprehensive testing, documentation, and performance optimization, including the establishment of monitoring and alerting systems.
• Enhance and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment workflows and ensure security.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while collaborating across teams to deliver impactful projects and elevate engineering standards.
• Foster innovation by identifying improvement opportunities, sharing knowledge, and engaging in technical outreach activities.
• Effectively manage projects, adhering to deadlines, priorities, and deliverables.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience, with a fervor for continuous learning.
• 2+ years of technical leadership experience, demonstrating effective communication and coordination skills to deliver critical products.
• Proficiency in Scala with expert-level knowledge, and mastery in a second backend language like Rust, Java, Python, or PHP is advantageous.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities.
• Experience in developing interactive browser applications with a focus on performance optimization and architecture.
• Proficiency in various web architecture patterns such as Microservices, Event-Driven, and P2P.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices and their adaptation to diverse engineering environments.
• Exposure to the Web3 ecosystem and projects involving blockchain fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and web protocols like HTTP, JSON-RPC, GraphQL, SOAP, and gRPC.
• Sound knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience working in multicultural settings and fluency in English is crucial.
• Background in supporting client-facing applications in a production environment.
