The Arbitrum Foundation, an organization based in the Cayman Islands, aims to develop and nurture the Arbitrum ecosystem. This ecosystem includes Arbitrum One, an Optimistic Rollup solution that scales apps instantly, reducing costs, and increasing capacity while maintaining Ethereum's security. Another component is Arbitrum Nova, focusing on enabling ultra-low cost fees using AnyTrust technology, particularly suited for Social and Gaming applications.

Arbitrum is currently the leading Ethereum scaling solution, boasting significant market dominance with numerous applications on the platform and over 50% of rollup liquidity.

We are in search of a Senior Business Development Manager with exceptional motivation, strong sales acumen, and extensive enterprise connections in Japan. The preferred candidate will be a native Japanese speaker possessing deep insights into the local market dynamics and business culture. Reporting directly to the Executive team, the Senior Business Development Manager will be crucial in propelling growth, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's footprint in Japan.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored business development strategies focused on the Japanese market to meet revenue targets and market penetration objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize crucial business opportunities, partnerships, and growth channels, with a spotlight on the enterprise sector.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with potential clients, partners, and relevant industry stakeholders to fuel business expansion and collaboration.
  • Oversee the complete sales process from prospecting and lead generation to negotiating and closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate closely with various teams like marketing, product, and legal to ensure cohesive execution of business development initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in Japan to guide strategic decisions and market positioning.
  • Represent Arbitrum Foundation at industry events, conferences, and networking platforms to boost brand visibility and thought leadership.

Desired Background:

  • Demonstrated success in business development, sales, or account management roles specifically within the Japanese market.
  • Wide network of contacts in the Japanese enterprise sector, showcasing the ability to leverage these connections for new business opportunities.
  • Strong grasp of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance (DeFi) is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills essential for building relationships and influencing decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with a performance-oriented mindset and a dedication to fostering growth and innovation.
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese languages is mandatory.
