About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior VFX Artist to lead the establishment and maintenance of our VFX style and creation process for an upcoming game. Collaborating closely with various departments, you will ensure visual fidelity while meeting technical and design requirements. This position offers the opportunity to build a team, execute your vision for a new VFX style, and enhance the authoring pipeline.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Art Director and Concept Art to create high-quality VFX simulations, textures, and materials.
- Develop processes, standards, documentation, and training.
- Ensure VFX art assets meet high technical and efficiency standards.
- Task and oversee a team, both internal and external.
- Coordinate with Production to manage the VFX team's daily tasks.
- Partner with Engineering and Technical Art to enhance the VFX art pipeline.
- Troubleshoot various issues in DCC tools and within the game.
Qualifications:
- Must have a passion for iterative design and peer-to-peer collaboration.
- 5-7 years of professional VFX experience, including team leadership.
- Proficient in timing, motion, and volume preservation.
- Mastery of asset generation techniques in DCC tools.
- Understanding of performance budgets and technical requirements.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience managing remote teams.
- Previous collaboration with diverse departments and team members.
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal and Unity.
A plus:
- Experience optimizing art assets for memory and performance.
