Tax Manager (US and Americas Tax Accounting and Compliance)
The Financial and Accounting (F&A) team at the organization encompasses various departments, including Financial Control, Business Performance Management, Procurement, Digital Transformation, Tax, Treasury, and Operations. Working together, this team is focused on optimizing global finance initiatives. The team members are detail-oriented, proficient at multitasking, and engage in diverse and exciting project scopes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual US income tax provisions according to ASC740 and IFRS, encompassing deferred tax calculations, reconciliation of tax rates, account reconciliation, and tax entry recording.
- Review detailed workpapers for federal and state income tax compliance with accuracy and timeliness.
- Supervise quarterly federal and state income tax estimates and extensions, ensuring timely tax payments.
- Manage tax-related data collection and documentation for audit and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with finance, treasury, and transfer pricing teams to maintain accurate data flow for tax compliance and provision calculations.
- Conduct thorough research on intricate tax issues, including federal and state income tax regulations, and prepare detailed memoranda supporting tax positions.
- Stay updated on tax law and regulation changes to ensure compliance and provide advice on implications.
- Support other special projects and process enhancements.
Requirements
- Hold a CPA or equivalent qualification.
- Possess 7+ years of experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or a multinational corporate tax department in a public company.
- Demonstrate expertise in ASC740 and IFRS tax accounting and reporting.
- Proven track record in managing complex US federal and state tax matters.
- Preferred experience in managing tax matters across multiple countries.
- Understanding of transfer pricing principles and practical implementation.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Exhibit high intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility with strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Flexible and collaborative mindset with hands-on work approach.
- Well-organized and capable of prospering in a fast-paced environment while managing several projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with tax provisioning software (e.g., OneSource, Longview, etc.).
