UX/IxD Lead

DFINITY Foundation is on the lookout for a skilled and innovative UX/IxD Lead to oversee design strategies for Dfinity's diverse product line. The successful candidate will focus on enhancing user experiences for various dapps developed and maintained by Dfinity, including management dapps, crypto wallets, and identity products. This role entails collaborating with the R&D and Product teams to enhance the product experience as well as integrate UX research and user testing into the development process.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in leading design projects from inception to launch, particularly within crypto or Web3 environments.
• Solid grasp of user-centered design principles, design thinking, and agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in user research, persona development, journey mapping, and usability testing.
• Familiarity with industry-standard design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries.
• Understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency wallets, and digital identity concepts.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate design choices to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in product management or product strategy is a bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the UX/UI design process for the crypto and identity product portfolio to ensure a consistent and user-friendly experience.
• Work closely with product managers, UI designers, and engineering teams to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Conduct and oversee user research activities like interviews, surveys, and usability testing to steer design decisions.
• Create and maintain user personas, journey maps, and other UX artifacts to guide product development.
• Develop high-fidelity prototypes and mockups to communicate design concepts effectively.
• Establish and uphold UX/UI design standards, guidelines, and best practices across teams.
• Educate the team on the significance of design thinking and mentor individuals as needed.
• Contribute to product management tasks such as feature prioritization, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design, particularly in blockchain and digital identity spheres.
• Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to ensure a consistent user experience across touchpoints.
• Analyze user metrics and feedback to continuously enhance the product experience.
• Present design concepts and rationale to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Advocate for user needs and ensure user-centered design principles are integrated into product development.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in UX and IxD, with a focus on digital products like fintech, blockchain, and identity management.
• Understanding of basic web technologies like HTML/CSS (coding skills not required).
• Portfolio showcasing relevant work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in a UX Lead role.
• Background in leading design projects within a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency in multi-disciplinary settings with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience leading and participating in workshops to enhance website workflows and experiences.
