Senior Dev with Trading Experience

Scenium is a Web3 RWA‑trading startup that tokenizes private‑fund assets, stocks and crypto so anyone can trade 24/7 with instant settlement and zero dividend tax. You’ll collaborate directly with our CTO to design, build and scale a production‑grade trading platform that underpins our entire marketplace.

Your mission is to own the backend and matching‑engine logic that powers order books, executions and token flows for our first trading product. Expect to shape architecture decisions, write production code and champion best practices for high‑throughput, low‑latency trading.

Must‑Have Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for backend services.
• Solid PostgreSQL (or similar RDBMS) schema design and query optimization.
• Deep understanding of order books, matching algorithms, market/limit orders, partial fills and fee calculations.
• Experience with Redis, job queues and asynchronous background workers.
• Ability to design robust, versioned REST APIs with proper authentication.
• Demonstrated track record shipping or integrating with at least one crypto or stock‑trading system, exchange or simulator.

Nice‑to‑Have Extras

• Hands‑on work with Fireblocks, Alchemy or similar custody/node providers.
• Familiarity with EVM smart contracts (ERC‑20/721) and basic Solidity debugging.
• Experience routing orders to broker APIs such as Interactive Brokers or Alpaca.

Soft Skills & Fit

• Ideally located within GMT‑1 to GMT+5 to enable real‑time pairing with the CTO.
• Clear, proactive communicator who can lead architecture conversations.
• Startup mindset: bias toward shipping fast, learning from feedback and iterating.
• Ability to translate vague trading ideas into production‑ready code.

Core Responsibilities

• Architecture & Coding – Design and implement order‑matching, market/limit order flows and the execution engine in TypeScript/Node.js. Model relational data in PostgreSQL; integrate caching and queues with Redis. Build and document clean REST/JSON APIs for web and mobile clients.
• System Reliability – Create asynchronous jobs for clearing, settlement and P&L reconciliation. Write unit and integration tests; set up monitoring and alerting for latency and error budgets.
• Collaboration – Pair daily with the CTO on trade‑logic design reviews, database schema and DevOps. Explain trading concepts (slippage, liquidity, routing) to non‑trading engineers.
• Technical Guidance – Propose optimizations such as net‑position storage and in‑memory order books. Evaluate Web3 tooling (e.g., Fireblocks, Alchemy) for custody and on‑chain actions.
