(Nadex), the organization now operates a CFTC-regulated designated contract market in the United States, offering derivatives and event contracts to U.S. participants. Through its platform OG.com, which focuses on prediction markets, Crypto.com pioneers the blending of digital assets, derivatives, and prediction markets.
The Opportunity
We are in search of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for North America who will spearhead the financial aspects for our U.S. and Canadian entities. In this role, the CFO will work closely with the global finance team, managing finance, audit, tax, accounting, and treasury functions within the region to support various operational facets, such as a regulated exchange, a crypto trading platform, a prediction markets business, new business ventures, and a NY OCC Trust bank. The ideal candidate should possess a unique background in financial services, solid public accounting experience, and practical familiarity with the digital asset industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Leadership:
- Develop financial strategies and long-term plans for all Americas entities, overseeing financial functions for Nadex (DCM), OG.com prediction markets operations, and other U.S. business lines.
- Act as the primary finance business partner for Americas leadership, offering insights on revenue, product economics, and capital allocation based on data analysis.
- Construct board-ready financial narratives and investor materials when necessary.
- Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and scenario analyses across all business lines in the Americas.
- Drive financial integration and setup for new business lines.
Financial Reporting & Controls:
- Supervise the preparation of U.S. GAAP financial statements, management reports, and global consolidation requirements.
- Ensure strong internal controls for financial reporting and applicable frameworks in alignment with regulated exchange requirements.
- Manage external audit relationships and coordinate global finance for audit and statutory obligations.
- Develop technical accounting positions on complex subjects like digital asset accounting and revenue recognition.
Regulatory & Compliance Finance:
- Guarantee financial compliance with CFTC regulations for designated contract markets including financial reporting, capital adequacy, and customer protection rules.
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams on regulatory filings, examinations, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
- Enhance and maintain financial controls for customer fund segregation and protection as per CFTC requirements.
- Stay abreast of evolving U.S. regulatory frameworks on digital assets and prediction markets, offering financial insights on structural implications of new regulations.
Treasury & Operations:
- Supervise treasury operations in the Americas including cash management, bank relationships, and liquidity planning for fiat and digital asset holdings.
- Manage intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and funding structures between U.S. entities and the global group.
- Collaborate with Tax for tax planning, compliance, and transfer pricing documentation at federal, state, and international levels.
Team Building & Cross-Functional Partnership:
- Form and lead a high-performing Americas finance team spanning FP&A, tax, treasury, accounting, and financial operations.
- Drive finance process enhancements as well as modernization, aiming for ERP optimization and improved reporting workflow automation.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to enforce financial considerations in product launches, market structure changes, and new business initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field; CPA certification mandatory.
- 15+ years of progressive financial experience, with a significant portion in financial services or capital markets.
- Profound understanding of US GAAP, including derivatives, financial instruments, and revenue accounting.
- Experience with CFTC-regulated entities or similar regulatory environments (SEC, FINRA, OCC) and related financial reporting obligations.
- Proven record in building and leading finance teams in high-growth environments.
- Strong executive presence to communicate complex financial topics effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct exposure to designated contract markets (DCMs), swap execution facilities (SEFs), or futures commission merchants (FCMs).
- Experience in cryptocurrency and digital asset treasury management, including familiarity with on-chain transactions and stablecoin operations.
- Knowledge of prediction markets, event contracts, or binary options from financial or operational perspectives.
- Proficiency in modern finance tools and applications (e.g., NetSuite, Anaplan, Tableau).
Salary Range: $300,000 - $400,000 per annum
