DeFi Ecosystem Manager, APAC

As part of the Aptos team, you will be at the forefront of advancing the DeFi ecosystem in APAC. Working closely with partners, you will contribute to expanding the DeFi ecosystem throughout the Aptos network. Your responsibilities will involve identifying potential developers and startups in DeFi, conducting research and analysis, and facilitating internal and external reporting. In addition, you will play a crucial role in analyzing DeFi sector trends, evaluating protocols for ecosystem inclusion, and fostering the onboarding process for selected protocols by establishing connections and managing relationships from start to finish. You will also be responsible for liquidity trend analysis and formulating strategies to attract liquidity to the Aptos Network and broader DeFi ecosystem.

This position reports to the Aptos Foundation and is based either in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, perform due diligence on, and form strategic partnerships with startups and projects exploring development on Aptos, with a specific focus on DeFi
• Collaborate with various internal teams, such as engineering, product, legal, and marketing, to implement relevant projects and partnerships
• Coordinate closely with the Aptos engineering team to address and resolve technical issues within the ecosystem promptly
• Conduct comprehensive research on the DeFi landscape, including cryptocurrencies, dApps, RWAs, and emerging technologies
• Stay informed about DeFi industry developments, monitor trends, regulatory modifications, technological advancements, and competitor activities
• Utilize varied data sources to comprehend blockchain market nuances, success factors, and areas needing improvement
• Serve as a DeFi and blockchain technology expert, providing support to internal teams and clients by sharing insights and addressing research-related inquiries
• Drive new initiatives within the ecosystem team to expand the reach of Aptos DeFi

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or related roles at a fast-growing technology company, with at least 2 years specializing in DeFi
• Strong crypto and DeFi market knowledge and experience
• Proficiency in working with commercial agreements, including negotiation outside of typical sales contracts
• Track record of engaging with technical teams, legal representatives, marketers, and closing global partnership opportunities
• Established network in the industry, including with industry leaders and executives
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Possess a strong DegenScore
