Director, Global Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting
We aim to hire a competent individual for the position of leading the tax compliance and tax accounting team at the growing venture, serving in a leadership role at the financial organization in Hong Kong / Singapore.
This role is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to oversee tax compliance and tax accounting aspects, partnering with the tax team on various essential functions within the tax department, such as structuring transfer pricing and executing tax/finance technology initiatives.
The chosen candidate will directly report to the SVP - Global Head of Tax, taking charge of a team of subordinates and actively engaging in tax audit reviews with external auditors, as well as contributing to strategic transactions and structural endeavors.
The ideal applicant should exhibit team-oriented behavior, implement tax strategies, and cooperate across departments to unearth avenues for value addition while formulating strategies to mitigate tax liabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the tax compliance agenda and enforce group tax compliance protocols in all operational regions
- Review and handle consolidated and crucial subsidiary quarterly income tax provisions and deferred tax computations in adherence to ASC740 and IFRS, including related disclosures
- Prepare tax management reports and model effective tax rates and cash taxes
- Manage tax audit review procedures alongside external auditors
- Spearhead tax accounting components of acquisitions and other relevant transactions
- Take charge of forthcoming tax technology projects involved in tax accounting, reporting, compliance, and transfer pricing
- Collaborate closely with the transfer pricing unit and scrutinize critical intercompany transactions such as financing and support services
- Lead or assist in other specialized projects and operational enhancements
Key Requirements:
- Hold a CPA qualification or its equivalent
- Possess over a decade of experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or multinational corporate tax division within a public corporation
- Strong grounding in ASC740 and IFRS tax accounting, managing compliance processes proficiently
- Demonstrate adeptness in handling intricate international tax affairs
- Hands-on experience in implementing tax accounting or compliance technologies
- Prior engagement in overseeing tax matters across multiple countries is advantageous
- Acquainted with transfer pricing concepts and their real-world implementation
- Exhibit strong leadership, project management, organizational, and communication abilities
- Display high intellectual, professional agility, combined with robust analytical and problem-solving proficiency
- Display flexibility, openness, and a committed work ethic
- Adept at managing several projects concurrently in demanding timelines in a fast-paced ambiance
