Scope of the role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave in London. This role will involve close collaboration with the Head of Finance and oversee the financial operations of the company, as well as handle single entities and group consolidated audit processes.
Role and responsibilities
- Supervise financial accounting areas such as financial accounting, treasury, systems, and finance transactions.
- Manage external audit processes efficiently and ensure timely completion.
- Prepare audit schedules, provide necessary documentation, and address auditor queries.
- Coordinate and prepare statutory reporting using US GAAP for subsidiary entities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial ledgers.
- Provide essential financial reporting to the management committee and EXCO for decision-making processes.
- Assist in the implementation of new AP software and associated budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant rules, laws, and regulations.
- Document business processes and accounting policies.
- Undertake ad hoc duties required by the business.
Qualifications and education requirements
- Must be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3-4 years of post-qualification experience.
Preferred skills
- Ability to present financial information clearly and with valuable insights.
- Proficiency in financial accounting and preparing financial reports.
- Previous experience in a similar role, capable of reporting to EXCO if needed.
- Familiarity with Google Suite at an intermediate level.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Deadline-driven and efficient workload management abilities.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and a good reputation.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the capacity to interpret and present diverse data.
- Advanced Excel skills.
