Financial Planning & Analyst Lead

We are the Institute of Free Technology, a purpose-driven startup studio that supports tech ventures from inception to market launch by providing comprehensive assistance in financial, technical, legal, people operations, and branding aspects.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CFO to establish and execute a forward-looking Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function customized for our diverse project portfolio and the studio format of our business.
- Develop and maintain a structured reporting, forecasting, and scenario planning process that aligns with our dynamic and innovative business environment.
- Work with senior leadership to enhance and refine budgeting and capital allocation procedures.
- Construct advanced and scalable financial models that facilitate scenario planning, predictive analysis, and valuation assessments, ensuring interoperability between current and upcoming models.
- Serve as a trusted consultant to project teams by clarifying financial discrepancies, recognizing improvement opportunities, and facilitating data-driven choices.
- Provide analytical support to projects and leadership for assessing the profitability and strategic relevance of existing and potential projects in the portfolio.
Required Qualifications:
Essential:
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders.
- Successful track record in developing robust financial models reflecting deep project understanding and managing uncertainties inherent in early-stage projects.
- Proficiency in communicating complex financial concepts to non-financial parties to influence decision-making.
- Strong collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a remote and asynchronous setup.
- Experience and interest in blockchain technology.
Desired:
- Previous involvement in establishing or enhancing FP&A functions in early-stage companies.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience in team management and development.
Extra Consideration for:
- Degree or post-graduate qualification in a quantitative discipline.
- Proficiency in Python, knowledge of software development workflows, and tools (e.g., Markdown, Git).
- Hands-on experience in blockchain tokenomics modeling, valuation of early-stage ventures, and working in open-source environments.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role will be determined based on your skills and experience evaluated during the interview process, with the option to receive payment in either fiat or cryptocurrency.
