We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our rapidly growing team as a General Manager for our operations in Ireland. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President of Business Operations at Blockchain.com, overseeing licensed infrastructural operations to enhance the company's product offerings within the European market. An adept operator in a collaborative setting, you will collaborate with executive leaders to launch new products and enhance business operations. Location
This position is based in Dublin, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the growth of a regulated financial services entity and its operational strategies
- Function as a board member for pertinent subsidiaries related to regulated services
- Provide guidance on regulatory examinations and audits for a regulated financial services business mainly focusing on payment services
- Establish and supervise regulated operations in compliance with regulatory protocols encompassing compliance, finance, IT/security, and various operational functions
- Oversee outsourcing partnerships ensuring alignment with Irish regulations governing regulated services
- Manage the regional business operations portfolio to optimize market share, client expansion, and profitability
- Collaborate with Blockchain.com executives to strategize and implement product launches and market penetration in Europe
- Engage with European authorities, specifically regarding MiCA and payment services regulations
- Foster relationships with regional financial institution partners including local and international banks
- Lead cross-functional projects to seamlessly integrate regional and local operational needs with global shared services functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience and a proven track record in business process management or operations
- Proficiency in holding Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF) roles under the regulated framework of the Central Bank of Ireland
- Sound comprehension of financial statements and fiduciary obligations
- Previous experience in managing an e-money institution or licensed financial service in relevant sectors such as crypto/blockchain, fintech, traditional finance, or brokerage/exchange
- Proven history of managing relationships with financial regulators on behalf of commercial entities
- Experience in product launches with product and engineering teams
- Proficiency in analytics and data-driven decision-making, adeptness in financial models and projections
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with a background in public relations being advantageous
- Valuable traits include creativity, adaptability, perseverance, a sense of urgency, and a hands-on work ethic
Desirable Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree, emphasizing Finance or Change Management
- Experience in profit and loss (P&L) management; holding roles such as COO or Head of a business unit, supervising large-scale teams
