Security is at the core of everything we do at Anchorage Digital. As our first Security Product Manager, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the product strategy to fortify our comprehensive security architecture and operational controls. Collaborating with diverse teams, you will develop secure-by-default features that align with stringent regulatory and auditor expectations while driving developer efficiency and enhancing client satisfaction.
Your role will involve defining and managing the roadmap for security platform capabilities, encompassing cloud defense, secrets management, HSM-bound workflows, and developer tooling for enhanced security. You will bridge the gap between regulatory demands, audit requirements, and product development to deliver robust security solutions. Additionally, you will establish clear product requirements, success metrics, and post-implementation assessments to ensure accountability and effectiveness across the organization.
We have formulated a framework called the Factors of Growth & Impact to aid team members in tracking progress, receiving coaching, feedback, and honing their skills within the Security Product Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Skills:
- Collaborate closely with security engineering teams to prioritize security product roadmap initiatives ensuring a balance between innovation and technical debt management.
- Employ strategic thinking to drive the security roadmap in alignment with evolving threats, compliance needs, market positioning, and client requirements.
- Lead cross-functional security projects with a focus on driving timely execution without compromising quality.
- Develop holistic go-to-market strategies for security features, incorporating defined success metrics and iterative enhancement based on data insights.
- Proficient in understanding system architecture, such as cryptographic primitives, HSMs, authentication, secure enclaves, to communicate engineering requirements effectively.

- Provide strategic insights that significantly influence company direction, security coverage, and product roadmap.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities that elevate team performance and effectiveness across security and platform domains.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Cultivate a deep understanding of Anchorage's business model, organizational structure, regulatory landscape, and strategic priorities.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders from Security, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, and Operations to promote effective collaboration.
- Navigate organizational processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and audit-readiness while contributing to strategic initiatives through security expertise.
Communication and Influence:
- Effectively engage and motivate teams towards organizational security and product goals.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration through clear communication and strategic decision-making influence.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, auditors, and clients, to convey security control intent, coverage, and roadmap vision.
- Act as a valuable knowledge partner to senior leadership to improve security dynamics within the organization.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years in product management with a focus on platform or security products in regulated or high-assurance environments.
- Strong technical proficiency in areas like cryptographic primitives, authentication, HSMs, key management, secure software delivery, etc.
- Proven track record of deploying developer-friendly platform controls that meet audit standards.
- Experience translating regulatory frameworks into product requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
- Deep experience in project management across multiple teams, showcasing leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with digital assets or financial infrastructure is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with hardware signing flows, policy engines, or secure enclave/HSM integrations is desirable.
- Exposure to incident response and detection engineering needs is a plus.
- Previous work on smart contracts, financial products, or within the financial industry is advantageous.
- Embody qualities of creativity, humility, ambition, attention to detail, hard work, trustworthiness, and eagerness to learn.
