About the Role
Figure is seeking a detail-oriented and impact-driven Accountant to contribute to their team. As an integral team member, you will handle monthly accounting tasks and help develop processes for rapid scaling. Taking ownership and pride in your work is crucial for being part of a team shaping the financial services industry. Responsibilities include:
- Recording journal entries and reconciling accounts for specific business domains, ensuring data accuracy and proposing resolutions for discrepancies.
- Supporting month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Leading daily financial operations, such as AR, AP, cash management, lending, and general accounting tasks.
- Preparing financial statements, conducting analysis, validating integrity, and managing reconciliation processes.
- Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to comply with GAAP and enhance internal controls.
- Assisting in external audit management, including documentation preparation and ongoing support.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and solve problems.
- Driving process enhancements and designing automation solutions to streamline financial data for better decision-making.
- Handling ad hoc projects in line with company expansion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a tech startup or public accounting firm.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, independent working style with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility and adeptness in prioritizing tasks within a startup setting.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with SAGE, Paycom, bill.com, and Expensify is advantageous.

Salary range for CO, NY, CA, and WA residents is $58,800 - $71,000/year with a 25% Bonus and Equity. Compensation may vary based on experience and location.
