Swiss Certified Accountant

We are in search of a Swiss Certified Accountant to join our finance team. The chosen candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of various accounting areas, establish processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive multiple international initiatives. We are seeking an individual who is a technical accounting expert, dedicated to operational excellence, standardized processes, and the implementation of best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage financial accounting and lead the month-end closing and reporting procedures for our Swiss entities, which includes journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and flux analysis review.
• Oversee banking and vendor management, ensuring efficient processing with high data quality across payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking subledgers.
• Execute and monitor the procurement process, ensuring effective operational controls are in place.
• Ensure the timely handling of disbursements such as reimbursements, invoices, and credit card bills, in addition to receipt entry and expense attribution across appropriate accounts and channels.
• Conduct internal controls, maintain up-to-date process documentation, and continuously challenge and enhance global processes with a focus on automation.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT and tax submissions.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing accounting efficiency continually.
• Act as a team player, willing to handle ad-hoc requests in a dynamic environment.
• Manage vendor bills, purchase orders, payment processing, and accounting postings.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet and intercompany account reconciliations to facilitate monthly and annual financial statement preparation.
• Support tax reporting and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Assist in external audits and tax filings.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to support the finance team.
• Participate in finance-related projects and contribute to policy and process enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Must hold Swiss Certified Specialist for Finance and Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Completed apprenticeship in the fiduciary sector.
• Proficient in English and German for handling accounting, financial, legal, and tax-related documentation, regulations, submissions, and statements.
• Experience in system implementation and integration is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional proficiency in Excel.
• Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency and excellent organizational abilities.
• Comfortable in a continuously evolving and dynamic environment.
• Capable of working independently and across various cultures and time zones.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly with a meticulous approach to work.
• Excellent communication skills, work ethic, and ability to collaborate with different parts of a rapidly growing organization.

(Note: This role requires in-office work from our office in Zurich for 3 days per week.)
