Local Crypto Wallet Environment Detection
We are developing an Enterprise B2B SaaS desktop solution designed for companies that manage and pay remote workers via crypto. To ensure corporate security, risk mitigation, and compliance, companies need a tool to audit whether their employees have set up approved/official crypto wallets or if unapproved wallets are active on their local Windows machines before initiating payroll workflows.
We need a lightweight, clean, and 100% compliant C# (WinUI 3 or WPF) proof-of-concept (PoC) application that handles this local environment compliance audit.
Key Requirements:
1. Develop a single-screen desktop GUI application using C# .NET 8 (or later).
2. Scan the currently logged-in Windows user's local application directories across ALL available browser profiles (Default, Profile 1, Profile 2, etc.) for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge to check for the presence of Web3 wallet extensions using their unique IDs (e.g., MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet).
3. Detect desktop-native enterprise wallet software or bridge applications (like Ledger Live, Exodus) via Windows Registry and system processes (Process.GetProcesses()), differentiating between "Installed but Closed" and "Active / Running".
4. Support an extensible/configurable rule approach (e.g., a simple in-memory list or local JSON structure) separating wallets into "Approved (Compliant)" and "Unapproved (Warning)" states.
5. Provide a clean UI layout showing the results clearly, and output a structured JSON compliance report string on the screen with a "Copy to Clipboard" option.
6. The utility must be lightweight, use native .NET file/process monitoring libraries, and contain ZERO malicious behavior (no credential harvesting, purely metadata audit).
Deliverables:
- A link to a GitHub repository containing the clean, well-commented, complete Visual Studio solution (.sln, .csproj, and XAML source files).
- A brief screenshot or 30-second screen recording demonstrating the UI successfully detecting wallet environments on your local Windows development machine.
