Job Overview:
The position of Assistant Shop Manager involves assisting the Hardware Repair Manager in overseeing daily shop operations and managing personnel. This role is concentrated on supervising staff, maintaining schedules, and ensuring the success of technicians by providing necessary resources. The Assistant Shop Manager plays a vital role in fostering a positive and efficient work environment that aligns with CleanSpark's objectives and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage shop staff, including Leads and Technicians, to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Play a key role in the hiring process for technician and lead roles, which involves interviewing, evaluating, and selecting suitable candidates.
- Handle disciplinary procedures by documenting issues, giving feedback, and escalating concerns to senior management when required.
- Monitor employee performance, conduct evaluations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend development plans.
- Oversee the onboarding and training of new employees to ensure they understand policies, safety practices, and repair procedures.
- Maintain consistent adherence to SOPs, workplace regulations, and safety/ESD protocols.
- Support logistics operations and ensure the availability of tools, parts, and repair materials required to meet production demands.
- Cultivate a positive work environment by addressing employee issues, encouraging teamwork, and boosting morale.
- Responsible for day-to-day personnel administration tasks, such as documentation, attendance tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Leads to align staffing and workflow with operational objectives and quality standards.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or related fields is preferred.
- Two to four years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in repair, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar operational settings.
- Proven experience in people management, including hiring, coaching, performance management, employee development, and corrective action.
- Strong organizational skills with expertise in scheduling, documentation, recordkeeping, and workforce coordination.
- Ability to manage staffing, logistics, and workflow effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for collaboration across various departments and organizational levels.
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel to other company facilities or off-site locations as required by business needs.
The annual salary for this role falls between $65,000 and $75,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. This position may involve tasks that require the operation of a company vehicle or travel between job sites. Candidates must be insurable under CleanSpark's vehicle insurance policy.
