Job Summary:
We are in need of an experienced Crypto Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations, focusing on crypto accounting aspects. The chosen candidate will manage all accounting functions, including financial reporting, internal controls, and tax compliance related to crypto assets. Collaborating closely with various teams, the Crypto Accounting Manager will ensure the timely and accurate provision of financial information crucial for the company's strategic decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, specifically related to crypto transactions and general ledger oversight.
- Develop and execute accounting policies and procedures tailored to crypto assets, guaranteeing adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Monitor and reconcile crypto balances across different platforms and accounts, maintaining transaction accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to correctly record and categorize crypto-related revenue, expenses, and gains or losses.
- Implement controls to reduce the risk of fraud and ensure compliance with AML and KYC regulations applicable to crypto assets.
- Stay informed about changes in crypto regulations and best practices, evaluate their impact on accounting procedures, and make necessary adjustments.
- Work closely with tech teams to improve data integrity and automation in crypto accounting processes, including integrating blockchain networks, APIs, and other relevant technologies.
- Build and sustain relationships with third-party service providers like crypto exchanges, custodians, and auditors to support accounting and reporting needs.
- Assist in the assessment and adoption of crypto accounting software and tools aligning with industry standards and company requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; preference for CPA or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, focusing on crypto accounting or related areas.
- Strong grasp of applicable accounting principles, standards, and regulations relating to crypto assets.
- Desirable experience with crypto-specific accounting tools and software.
- Thorough knowledge of compliance requirements concerning crypto assets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
