Responsibilities
We are seeking a proficient leader comfortable in an innovative, high-paced environment. The role involves spearheading the operational backbone of the tax department at scale, particularly in navigating a challenging regulatory landscape. This pivotal position requires oversight of external service providers in executing federal, state, and international tax compliance and reporting functions encompassing income and indirect tax responsibilities. Additionally, the role involves overseeing all quarterly and annual tax accounting tasks for financial and SEC reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- **Conduct consolidated tax provision management, quarterly filings, and related financial statements in accordance with US GAAP standards.
- **Lead and mentor the tax team in executing the provision process from initial planning and forecasting to calculations, recording, analysis, and reporting.
- **Manage the relationship with external auditors for the US GAAP audit of income taxes.
- **Supervise the team (internal and external) in completing all US income tax reporting includes federal, state, and US international tax returns.
- **Enhance standardization and automation in the US tax compliance process while driving ongoing process enhancements to streamline global tax accounting.
- **Ensure accuracy and analytics across reported effective tax rate components and forecasted rates, including cash taxes on a global scale.
- **Champion operational excellence through leveraging process improvements, adopting best practices, upgrading tax software tools, and advancing automation for enhanced efficiency and scalability.
- **Establish and manage a global tax operations function emphasizing efficient processes informed by corporate multinational experience and industry best practices.

Requirements
To excel in this role, you will bring:
- 12+ years' of global corporate tax experience, including public accounting.
- Knack for team management within public company or corporate tax settings.
- Proficiency in accounting for income tax matters and US GAAP expertise.
- Familiarity with various tax calculations and compliance software.
- Strong communication skills for effectively conveying tax concepts across diverse teams.
- Track record of prioritizing tax technical positions, documentation, and M&A experience.
- Ideally, experience in financial services or fintech sectors.
- Strong project management capabilities and excellence in executing complex initiatives.
- Effective relationship-building skills, alongside a commitment to top-tier integrity and work standards.
- Ability to lead by example through collaboration, humility, and goal-oriented behavior.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, CPA certification preferred.
- Proficiency with tools like Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.
