Group Finance Controller
We are seeking an experienced individual to fill the role of Group Finance Controller within our Global Finance team based in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate we are looking for should be hands-on, possess strong strategic capabilities, and have excellent communication and analytical skills. As the chosen candidate, your responsibilities will include utilizing your analytical background to oversee internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with our CFO, Board, and finance & business teams in EMEA, APAC, and the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare clear and concise Board Papers regarding Share-based payments and Bonus Accruals
- Conduct research and write technical accounting papers on various issues such as financial instruments, digital assets and liabilities, intangible assets, and business combinations
- Provide accurate group financial reporting packs during month-end closeouts, encompassing financial accounting, analysis, and group consolidation
- Manage quarterly financial reporting, including half-year and annual reporting procedures, overseeing external auditors and ensuring group financial statements comply with IFRS, statutory NL GAAP & regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with local finance and management teams to offer insights, uphold financial data quality, and support operational excellence through process enhancements
- Contribute to enhancing, automating, and streamlining controlling activities and operational finance procedures
- Engage in strategic group projects focusing on balance sheet optimization, funding, and other business initiatives
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience as a Group Financial Controller
- Hold a University Degree in Finance, Accounting & Control, Controlling, or Accounting, with RA/CPA/CA or equivalent qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in leading finance teams within a fast-paced international setting
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Proficient in IFRS, financial regulations (IFR/IFD), and capital requirements management
- Strong business acumen with a strategic thinking approach
- Proven track record of reporting skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Capability to manage tight deadlines
- Proficient in Excel with data management skills, plus beneficial to have knowledge of SQL/VBA, Exact Globe, or OneStream
