International Payroll Lead/Analyst (Germany, Part-time)

About the Role:
Toku is seeking a skilled part-time payroller to support our Payroll team, contributing 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will manage all operational aspects of payroll, including implementing processes, entities, and best practices with minimal supervision. Primarily focusing on German payrolls, this individual will also interact with various stakeholders regarding payroll matters.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather and organize payroll data for processing by providers
- Prepare data submissions for various countries through localized software
- Communicate with payroll providers, addressing submissions and resolving related queries
- Review and reconcile payroll data promptly to ensure accurate and compliant payments to employees and third parties
- Act as the primary contact for internal and external inquiries related to payroll
- Collaborate with internal departments such as HR and finance to address payroll-related issues
- Maintain updated records, processes, and procedures
- Oversee the implementation of new country payrolls in compliance with regulations
- Assist in the transition of current providers to new services
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues efficiently
- Provide support coverage when needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with German payroll operations (minimum three years)
- Solid understanding of payroll processing and industry best practices
- Strong attention to detail and numerical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems, exercising critical thinking
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
- Familiarity with payrolls outside of Germany is a plus
- Previous experience with crypto compensation is beneficial
