Reporting to Anchorage’s Accounting Policy, Processes, and Control Lead, the Accounting Policy Member for the Accounting Team will hold a vital and eminent role in driving the resolution of groundbreaking accounting matters within the crypto sector. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional US GAAP expertise, blending a keenness for effectively applying accounting principles to current and emerging business endeavors. This role demands strong soft skills, including adeptness at navigating uncertainties, meeting strict deadlines, fostering robust partnerships with finance and business cohorts, and managing multiple tasks concurrently. Duties entail offering technical counsel on novel transactions, accounting directives, and policy enhancements as part of the organization's support system.

Technical Skills:
- In-depth expertise in US GAAP, spanning key areas such as ASC 855, ASC 810, ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 326, ASC 350-30, ASC 350-60, ASC 350-40, ASC 323, and ASC 321.
- Proficiency in crafting top-tier technical accounting memos.
- Strong organizational, timeline management, and attention-to-detail attributes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Background in accounting advisory consulting or technical accounting roles in the industry.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving intricate accounting issues effectively.
- Proficient in technical accounting investigations concerning novel or anticipated transactions.
- Familiarity with preparing ASC 606 evaluations, encompassing elements like variable consideration/constraint, series, consideration payable to clients, and composing principal-agent considerations.
- Proven record of adept writing skills underscored by clear and detailed accounting evaluations.
- Capable of sourcing requisite background data for comprehensive accounting analyses, like contract specifics and process outlines.
- A penchant for working in a rapidly evolving, dynamic business environment.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Enforce compliance with accounting regulations coupled with GAAP and IFRS for non-US subsidiaries.
- Tackle intricate accounting challenges devoid of clear definitions, where conventional principles or past precedents may not suffice entirely.
- Collaborate with process stakeholders to grasp the firm's risks and controls, establishing a strong control structure to buoy our rapid growth.
- Contribute to external audit processes to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Aid in the integration and design of modern financial and accounting software tools.
- Undertake special projects within Accounting/Finance on an ad-hoc basis.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Stay abreast of company strategies and new initiatives.
- Recognize the alignment of company priorities with personal work requisites, and transparently communicate the overarching purpose.
Communication and Influence:
- Background in technical accounting research and composition (preferably in a high-growth enterprise).
- Possession of a CPA designation.
- Meticulous and eloquent writing capabilities.
- Exposure to the advancements in blockchain and crypto innovations.
- Proficiency in implementing and assessing US GAAP standards.
- Sound grasp of US GAAP accounting criteria, having validated experience evaluating complex revenue contracts and appraising share-based compensation schemes.
- Extensive experience in accounting for diverse revenue recognition contracts, adept at interpreting variables like consideration, series, and principal-agent guidelines.
- Capability to flag matters with a technical accounting impact based on the review of contracts, board minutes, term sheets, and so forth.
