We are actively seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team. As we expand our business, revenue, and workforce, we seek an individual who excels in handling challenges, possesses meticulous attention to detail, and aims to exert a substantial influence on the organization through a dynamic role. The primary objective of this position is to enhance accounting operations, automate processes, introduce new controls, and uphold the accuracy of financial statements through comprehensive accounting scrutiny.
Key Areas for Growth & Impact as part of the General Ledger role:
1. Technical Skills:
- Assist in overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for our U.S. legal entity and associated group entities.
- Execute day-to-day accounting tasks such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of equity and payroll expense workpapers.
- Ensure precise and complete financial data alignment with US GAAP standards.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis on financial accounts.
- Manage intercompany reconciliation and settlement processes promptly.
- Safeguard balance sheet account integrity through reconciliation reviews and verification.
- Analyze and process accounts payable efficiently, addressing any invoicing-related issues.
- Support internal and external audit functions with necessary documentation and explanations.
2. Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Collaborate with process stakeholders to understand business risks and controls, fostering a robust control environment.
- Tackle intricate accounting matters where conventional principles and precedent may not wholly apply, such as crypto transaction recording.
- Demonstrate proficiency in decision-making amid ambiguity, steering business progress.
- Uphold accountability for adhering to accounting policies and procedures, ensuring the quality and accuracy of financial reporting.
3. Organizational Knowledge:
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Anchorage's strategic direction and various business segments.
- Actively engage with different sections to grasp past transactions and future global strategy execution.
- Collaborate with Finance colleagues and other cross-functional teams to develop plans aligning with business needs.
- Address complex financial issues necessitating detailed company knowledge.
4. Communication and Influence:
- Articulate complex issues effectively across diverse audiences.
- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders internally and externally, fostering effective collaboration.
- Manage cross-team goals and projects proficiently, leveraging relationships and resources for efficient problem-solving.
If you meet the following criteria, you might be a good fit for the role:
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
- Have hands-on experience in financial management, reporting, accounting, or audit within multinational settings.
- Exhibit strong familiarity with US GAAP standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in financial systems/software like Netsuite, SAP, or Hyperion.
- Boast exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills, enabling extensive collaboration at all organization levels.
It would be a plus if you:
- Have Big 4 firm experience.
- Stay updated on crypto innovations and blockchain trends.
- Carry expertise in tax compliance and reporting obligations.
- Have experience configuring ERP systems like Netsuite, SAP, or Oracle.
