Role Description:
The Revenue Accountant position holds a pivotal role in overseeing month-end financial closure operations, with a specific emphasis on facilitating revenue computations and billing processes, managing accounts receivable, and handling payment applications. This role presents an exclusive opportunity to address the nuances of conducting transactions involving fiat currency and digital assets throughout the order-to-cash workflow. The appointed individual will play a key role in scaling operations and aiding in the formulation, documentation, and execution of protocols, processes, and controls associated with revenue management.
Responsibilities:
Technical Skills:
- Execute daily and month-end procedures, including revenue calculations and journal entry tasks in adherence to ASC 606 protocols.
- Support the deployment and conceptualization of new software and integration tools.
Work Complexity and Impact:
- Ensure timely receivables management and oversee accounts receivables related to various business segments.
- Monitor digital asset transactions and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement and streamlining.
- Assist in end-of-month activities for multiple legal entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
- Develop and uphold comprehensive documentation detailing core accounting procedures.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies resulting from flux analyses and account reconciliations.
- Undertake special, ad-hoc Accounting/Finance projects upon request.
Communication and Influence:
- Interact with engineering, client operations, and FP&A teams to address pending matters and spearhead enhancement initiatives.
- Aid in internal and external audit procedures to ensure precision and punctuality in financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm or within a fast-paced startup/fintech environment.
- Proficient understanding of ASC 606, US GAAP, and SOX compliance standards.
- Proven track record of fostering robust financial performance and accountability.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel functionalities such as Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF statements, etc.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities with a knack for steering cross-functional projects.
- Possess a combination of traits like creativity, resourcefulness, attentiveness to detail, diligence, trustworthiness, eagerness to learn, methodical approach, action orientation, patience, and balance.
- Strong organizational capabilities and self-motivation skills.
- Demonstrated interest in accounting, finance, digital assets, and dynamic markets.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with SQL, Google Apps Script, or no-code process automation tools.
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting, Business, Economics, and/or Finance (CPA certification is advantageous).
- Stay abreast of advancements in blockchain and crypto technologies.
- Experience working with Netsuite or Bill.com.
- Emotional connection to the soundtrack of Hamilton, which narrates the establishment of a novel financial system.
