Open Source Community Coordinator
What is our mission?
We are a group of creators and researchers committed to enabling businesses and developers globally to utilize and construct decentralized systems. Our specializations include Ethereum and Starknet protocol engineering, layer-2 solutions, cryptography and protocol research, decentralized finance (DeFi), security audits, formal verification, real-time monitoring, smart contract development, and dapps and enterprise engineering.
We tackle some of the most complex challenges in the blockchain industry, often working in collaboration with entities like Ethereum Foundation, Starknet Foundation, Gnosis Chain, Flashbots, Forta Protocol, Lido, EigenLayer, Open Zeppelin, RISCZero, Aleph Zero, and more. Currently, we have around 200 team members operating remotely from over 45 countries.
About the Opportunity
We are searching for a dynamic individual to become our Open Source Community Coordinator. In this role, you will lead in promoting and expanding our open-source developer community. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, contributors, and users to ensure the continued growth and success of our open-source projects. We are looking for someone with a deep interest in open-source projects, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to creating inclusive and collaborative communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage community engagement, fostering collaboration and inclusivity among contributors and users.
- Develop strategies to enhance and support the growth of our open-source community.
- Work with partners to encourage and sustain open-source contributions.
- Create and curate educational content relevant to the open-source community.
- Collaborate in planning community events to encourage knowledge sharing and networking.
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in open-source software development and community management.
- Exceptional communication skills for engagement with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in version control systems, issue tracking, and other collaboration tools used in open-source projects.
- Knowledge of open-source licensing and copyright regulations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent field.
- Experience in content creation and organizing community events.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency or relevant background.
Performance Indicators:
- Track and measure approved contributions to Nethermind’s open-source repositories.
- Monitor the number of external contributors submitting Pull Requests to Nethermind’s open-source repositories.
