People & Talent Generalist
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented individual for a hybrid role based in Etobicoke, ON with a minimum requirement of 2 days in-office. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building processes, and taking charge of People operations. As a People and Talent Generalist, you will be instrumental in optimizing HR programs, systems, and workflows to boost efficiency and enhance the overall employee experience. This role offers hands-on involvement in driving HR projects from inception to completion, implementing best practices, and contributing to a thriving organizational culture. Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and standardize People Operations by refining HR processes and systems to increase efficiency and automation, with necessary support.
- Collaborate with the People and Talent Manager to deliver seamless onboarding experiences, enhance training schedules for new hires, and propose novel ideas for process enhancement.
- Manage and optimize HR systems and data, ensuring data accuracy and providing actionable insights using HRIS tools like HiBob.
- Drive performance management by leading performance cycles, creating intuitive workflows, and assisting managers in fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure adherence to HR compliance and best practices by staying updated on employment regulations and aligning policies with modern HR trends.
- Manage employee relations and engagement by acting as a trusted resource, proactively addressing employee concerns, and promoting a culture of feedback.
- Facilitate learning and development by identifying training opportunities and spearheading initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Support culture and engagement initiatives by collaborating with leadership to organize impactful team-building events and programs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to be self-driven and resourceful, taking proactive actions without always requiring direction.
- 3-5 years of hands-on HR experience in a rapidly growing startup or scale-up environment.
- Process-oriented mindset with a penchant for action, constantly seeking opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Confident problem-solving skills, being proactive in tackling challenges with a focus on providing solutions.
- Comfortable with technology and data-driven decision-making, proficiency in HRIS systems, particularly HiBob, is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, adept at building rapport and effectively engaging with employees at all levels.
- Adaptable and agile in embracing change, quickly pivoting and maintaining composure in evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in managing HR across multiple locations like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.
- Knowledge of global and/or Canadian Payroll processes.
- Background in HR policy development and compliance.
- Passion for the crypto, fintech, or tech startup sphere.
