Senior Accountant, US

We are expanding the Accounting division of our Finance team. We are seeking a team member based in New York who is ready to help establish the accounting infrastructure and processes that will facilitate growth in a fast, yet controlled manner. Working closely with the Controller, the ideal candidate should thrive in a high-growth environment where protocols, procedures, and policies are evolving. They should be adept at prioritizing tasks to construct a scalable and efficient accounting and reporting system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management and upkeep of the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial records maintenance.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, cryptocurrencies wallets, and credit card accounts.
- Preparation of journal entries for review by the controller.
- Compilation of general ledger account analysis.
- Assistance with monthly closings, including tasks such as billing, journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Ensuring adherence to US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Providing support for and managing audits in a timely and effective manner.
- Contributing to the setup of internal controls procedures and processes.
- Prompt response to ad hoc requests from team members, operations, and management.
- Collaboration with controllers from various entities to complete intercompany reconciliations and manage intercompany transactions accordance with local GAAPs.
- Supervising and reviewing the work of external consultants.
REQUIREMENTS

- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is mandatory.
- While a CPA or Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred, it is not mandatory.
- Experience of 2-5 years in accounting/finance roles, especially within financial services, focusing on monthly close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as NetSuite, Trovata, and FloQast.
- Interest in the crypto industry and understanding of the evolving global regulatory landscape.
- Preferably, prior experience in crypto, fintech, or start-up environments.
- Experience in international accounting is advantageous.
- Strong presentation and communication skills crucial for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Noteworthy attention to detail and a team player mindset for identifying process enhancements.
- Capacity to meet deadlines while upholding quality standards and demonstrating effective time management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse business functions.
- Capability to adapt to a fast-paced learning-intensive environment and a willingness to assume additional duties when necessary.
