Senior Manager, US and Americas Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting
We are seeking a Senior Manager for US and Americas Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting to oversee the expanding tax compliance and tax accounting function within the Crypto.com Americas region. The position is based in Chicago and will primarily entail handling US federal and state tax compliance, planning, and reporting for the US business. Additionally, responsibilities include managing Canadian corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and Canadian indirect tax reporting, with involvement in Brazilian tax matters through external tax advisors.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Global Head of Tax in Asia and will also collaborate closely with the Head of Finance for the US. In this role, the candidate will supervise a team member in Chicago and play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of tax operations in the Americas region.
The ideal candidate should be a collaborative team player who is capable of setting a positive example while implementing tax strategies and working alongside cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for value creation and mitigate tax risks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead the US federal and state tax compliance and tax accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Prepare or review detailed workpapers to support federal and state income tax compliance accurately and promptly.
- Manage the quarterly US income tax provisions and deferred tax calculations according to ASC740 and IFRS guidelines, including rate reconciliation.
- Assist with reviewing tax audit processes conducted by external auditors.
- Oversee the tax accounting aspects of US acquisitions and other transactional activities, ensuring proper integration.
- Collaborate closely with the transfer pricing team to review key intercompany transactions such as financing and support services.
- Lead or support other special projects and initiatives focused on process improvement.
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification.
- At least 8 years of experience in Big 4 public accounting or in a multinational corporate tax department within a public company.
- Strong background in ASC740 and IFRS tax accounting, compliance process leadership, and reporting.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex US tax matters.
- Preferred experience in handling tax matters across multiple countries.
- Familiarity with transfer pricing principles and their practical application.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, organizational, and communication capabilities.
- High level of professional agility and flexibility, combined with strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
