About the Role
We seek a Social Media Intern to join the Brand & Media team on a part-time basis for at least 20 hours per week. In this position, you will focus on expanding and engaging our audience across key social platforms, strengthening The Block's presence as a prominent voice in crypto discussions. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in Social Media, providing hands-on experience in strategic planning, content creation, community engagement, analytics, and real-time trend monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Aid senior team members in executing a comprehensive social media strategy for The Block.
- Contribute fresh campaign ideas and gather feedback from stakeholders.
- Disseminate highlights from The Block's research and reports to major media channels.
- Assist in promoting in-house talent and coordinating content release schedules.
- Engage with the crypto community through impactful daily posts and interactions.
- Adapt editorial content into platform-specific formats across various social media channels.
- Manage and report on engagement metrics to the marketing team regularly.
- Monitor crypto news, memes, and sentiment to identify opportunities for timely content.
- Collaborate with content creators and writers to develop engaging story formats for social media.
- Assist in collaborations and cross-promotions with crypto brands and creators.
- Monitor discussions for misinformation or shifts in sentiment, escalating issues as required.
What We Seek
- Candidates pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the crypto landscape and its various audiences.
- Ability to craft engaging social media posts, memes, and video headline ideas.

This role offers $18 - $22 per hour for at least 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling. The internship duration is 3-6 months, with possible extensions based on performance and business requirements. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. The role is fully remote, with collaboration primarily with team members in the US and Europe on asynchronous work schedules.
