Software Engineer (Full Stack), Bitcoin

This role offers the flexibility of remote work but requires individuals located in the greater Toronto, Canada area. BitGo is seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join the Bitcoin Team. The company manages a significant volume of cryptocurrency transactions, necessitating fast, accurate, scalable, and secure applications due to interactions with various exchanges, agencies, and governments worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance multi-signature Bitcoin wallets with the latest Bitcoin features, ensuring operational integrity at high transaction volumes.
- Take ownership of system functionality, scalability, and performance supporting BitGo's Bitcoin products.
- Upgrade and maintain existing backend software that interfaces with the Bitcoin blockchain.
- Share expertise on Bitcoin with the engineering team.
- Document and expose functionality to various user interfaces, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling.

Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Full Stack software development.
- Strong foundation in API design principles.
- Proficient in Git and GitHub-based code reviews.
- Enthusiasm for implementing advanced Bitcoin features at scale.
- Strong advocate for thorough testing practices before deployment.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Deep understanding of Bitcoin blockchain fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Node.JS, JavaScript, and Typescript for programming and debugging.
- Familiarity with emerging Bitcoin technologies like Taproot and Lightning.
- Contributed significantly to Bitcoin-related open source software.
- Experience in developing containerized applications running on Kubernetes.
- Background in server-side Java application development.
