What You'll Be Responsible For
As a seasoned leader, you will collaborate with the Treasurer to oversee and expand our Treasury Execution, Client Services, and Operations functions. This includes managing various aspects such as balance sheet management, digital asset operations, fiat operations, and over-the-counter (OTC) activities. Your strategic partnership with our Product, Business, Engineering, and Customer Success teams will deliver innovative solutions that mitigate risk and drive value for our customers and shareholders. Additionally, you will lead efforts to exceed regulatory requirements through the development of robust processes and controls. This pivotal role allows you to shape an integral function in fulfilling Circle's mission.
What You'll Work On
- Establishing and scaling a world-class operations function to support continuous crypto and fiat flows.
- Creating and executing a global foreign exchange strategy for crypto and fiat operations.
- Implementing credit offerings for digital asset customers to enhance the stability of the stablecoin ecosystem.
- Managing risk associated with Corporate balance sheets, including interest rates, foreign exchange, credit, and hedging activities.
- Facilitating the launch of new products and business lines by designing robust risk processes and infrastructure.
- Providing operational expertise and support for the OTC market making business, including asset custody, reporting, margin operations, and financial risk management.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Building and managing a global network of transaction banking partners to optimize stablecoin liquidity for our customers.
- Overseeing relationships with global financial service providers, such as transaction banking and financial market utilities.
- Managing fiat operations, including funds flows, exceptions handling, metrics, and reporting.
- Automating operational and reconciliation processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Maintaining operational controls, policies, standards, and procedures.

What You'll Bring to Circle
- 15+ years of full-time experience in treasury, banking, payments industry, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in managing and leading teams.
- Previous experience in managing balance sheet risks and building and scaling an operations function.
- Strong work ethic and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective time management for handling multiple priorities.
- Curiosity and interest in macroeconomics and business cycle modeling.
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency, web3 ecosystems, and their interactions with the traditional finance industry.
- Proficiency in advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel) and/or basic computer programming.
- Experience or familiarity with tools such as Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.
Additional Information
- Day-One PERM sponsorship eligibility for qualified candidates.
- Compensation is based on factors such as experience, skill set, and organizational needs.
- Compensation range: $252,500 - $332,500.
- Annual bonus target: 30%.
- Additional benefits: Equity, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), discretionary vacation policy, 10 paid sick leave days per year, and 11 paid holidays per year (U.S.).
