Accounting Manager - Fixed Assets
Job Overview
As a member of the CleanSpark team, you will play a vital role in managing the fixed asset accounting function. Your main responsibilities will include overseeing the acquisition, disposal, and depreciation of fixed assets, managing Construction in Progress (CIP) tracking, developing and maintaining fixed asset policies and procedures, and leading the financial reporting process related to fixed assets. Collaboration with various teams within the organization will be crucial to ensure accurate asset tracking and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of fixed asset accounting, from acquisitions to disposals and depreciation.
- Oversee Construction in Progress (CIP) tracking to ensure proper capitalization and accounting treatment.
- Establish and uphold fixed asset policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Lead the month-end and quarter-end closing processes for fixed assets.
- Prepare and review fixed asset reconciliations, roll-forward schedules, and financial disclosures.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and IT teams to ensure accurate fixed asset tracking.
- Support financial reporting activities, including SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
- Work closely with auditors to facilitate fixed asset-related audit procedures.
- Drive process enhancements in fixed asset tracking and reporting through system improvements.
- Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff accountants handling fixed asset-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on fixed assets.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
- Proficiency in NetSuite, fixed asset subledgers, and CIP tracking.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a background in managing and mentoring accounting staff.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Previous experience in the Bitcoin mining or data center industry would be advantageous.
