dApps Full-stack Engineer

The Challenge:

Decentraland is currently searching for a skilled full-stack engineer to join its remote-friendly team dedicated to developing tools for the metaverse. In this role, you will be responsible for creating innovative 3.0 web apps (dApps) and other services. The ideal candidate should proactively tackle complex challenges, enhance existing products for enhanced efficiency and scalability, collaborate with various teams to achieve platform objectives, and devise inventive solutions to address issues and bottlenecks effectively.

The Tech Stack:

The technologies utilized by the dApps team routinely include TypeScript for both server and browser development, Vite for website building, React, Redux, and sagas, Web3 and ethers.js for interacting with EVM-compatible chains, NodeJS and PostgreSQL for server operations, GitHub Actions and Workflows for continuous deployment, and Gitlab, Pulumi, AWS, and Cloudflare for infrastructure provisioning. Additionally, monitoring is facilitated through Prometheus and Grafana.

Requirements

• Proficiency in React, Redux, and comprehensive TypeScript/JavaScript expertise
• Experience with NodeJS and SQL-based databases
• Ability to revamp and scale existing products
• Background in developing, releasing, and maintaining software in live environments
• Alignment with the core values of the team including passion for creation, future-oriented mindset, prioritization of progress over perfection, accountability, and enjoying the journey

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with blockchain technologies
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and game engine frameworks such as Babylon, Unity, Unreal, Bevi, Godot, etc.
• Exposure to building graphs, subsquids, or substreams
• Prior usage of Electron
• Experience in constructing Smart Contracts with Solidity or Vyper
• Portfolio of personal app projects motivated by self-interest or to address personal challenges
• Proficiency in working with distributed teams across varied time zones
