THE ROLE

The primary responsibilities of the Director of Finance will involve overseeing all financial operations to ensure precision, efficiency, compliance, and support strategic growth initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Director will be responsible for managing accounting procedures, budgeting, forecasting, and optimizing cash flow. Moreover, the candidate will assist in market expansion efforts and evaluate the performance of cryptocurrency ATMs. A crucial aspect of this role will be to cultivate and guide a proficient finance team, promoting a culture of accountability and forward-thinking to contribute to the company's sustained success.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Financial Operations

  • Spearhead day-to-day accounting operations
  • Supervise the month-end and year-end close processes meticulously to maintain adherence to regulatory and accounting standards
  • Optimize cash flow management and identify efficiency enhancements
  • Introduce cost control measures and streamline accounting operations by implementing process enhancements to reduce manual tasks
  • Coordinate external audits and prepare vital documentation for tax filings and compliance reviews 

Financial Planning

  • Assist in the quarterly and annual financial planning encompassing budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and long-term strategic planning
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish ambitious financial and strategic objectives for both the short and long term

Strategic Initiatives

  • Support expansion efforts such as entering new markets and the introduction of new financial products
  • Assess the financial performance of cryptocurrency ATMs and propose enhancement strategies 
  • Work alongside internal and external partners to improve financial systems and processes

Team Leadership & Development

  • Establish, lead and mentor a high-performing finance team to bolster company growth
  • Encourage a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the finance department

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Guarantee compliance with all regulatory mandates, tax filings, audits, and other statutory commitments
  • Implement internal controls to uphold asset safety and mitigate financial risks
  • Engage with legal and compliance teams to navigate the regulatory landscape concerning cryptocurrency transactions

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education & Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a Controller or similar leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CPA designation strongly preferred)
  • Sound knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and industry best practices
  • Proficiency in finance industry software including Microsoft Business Central, Prophix, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and expertise in Excel
  • Previous experience managing accounting functions across multiple countries, to ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Jira for financial project management, workflow automation, and cross-functional collaboration
