Responsibilities:

Circle is in search of a dynamic leader who excels in a dynamic, innovative landscape. This pivotal role oversees external service providers in preparing federal, state, and international tax reporting and compliance activities, spanning income and indirect tax. Furthermore, the Tax Operations team ensures seamless quarterly and annual tax accounting for financial and SEC reporting.

Key Duties:

  • Oversight of consolidated tax provision, quarterly filings, and other tax-related financial statements in alignment with US GAAP
  • Leadership and mentorship of the tax team throughout the provision process, covering all stages from planning to reporting 
  • Management of external audit relationships for US GAAP income tax audits
  • Directing the team to manage all US income tax reporting, encompassing federal, state, and US international tax returns 
  • Enhancing standardization and automation within the US tax compliance process to streamline global tax accounting
  • Upholding controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements in processes and systems 
  • Ensuring accuracy of reported effective tax rate components, as well as forecasting global effective tax rates and cash taxes
  • Driving operational excellence through process enhancement, leveraging best practices, and implementing automation tools to boost efficiency 
  • Establishing and managing a global tax operations function with a focus on maximizing efficiency through multinational corporate experience

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of global corporate tax experience, including public accounting background 
  • 5+ years of team management experience within a public company or corporate tax department setting 
  • Proficiency in accounting for income tax matters and US GAAP 
  • Familiarity with tax calculations and compliance software (preferably OneSource Provision or similar tools within Oracle ERP)
  • Knowledge of international tax regulations and cross-border distinctions 
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating tax concepts to diverse audiences 
  • Ability to prioritize tax technical positions and related documentation, with M&A experience a plus 
  • Preferred experience in financial services or fintech sectors
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders

Additional Details:
