About the Role:
Toku is expanding its services and currently seeks a Global Tax and Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance in multiple regions, including the United States. This vital position requires a dedicated professional with a focus on tax, audit, and corporate compliance functions.
We are seeking a Chartered Accountant with at least 8 years of experience in global tax, audit, and compliance, particularly in US federal, state, and corporate taxes, alongside international regulations. Experience working with multinational corporations is essential, with startup experience considered advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review various US tax returns independently, ensuring compliance with forms such as 1099, 1120, 1120F, 1065, and more.
- Manage the timely filing of US federal, state, and local tax returns and handle communications with relevant taxing authorities.
- Oversee tax provisioning according to US GAAP standards, including elements like DTA/DTL positions and Valuation Allowance requirements.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency across various US tax jurisdictions.
- Assist in tax oversight for group companies and US GAAP tax provisions reconciliation.
Global Compliance:
- Ensure global tax, audit, and corporate secretarial compliance in collaboration with local partners.
- Coordinate with local consultants to ensure compliance with timely filing schedules and other regional tax requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive global compliance schedule to meet all regional tax obligations.
- Manage Transfer Pricing setup and any associated audits or assessments as needed.
Payroll Compliance:
- Handle all aspects of global payroll taxes, including reconciliation, filing, and reporting under the Total Compensation framework.
- Resolve any payroll-related issues, maintain compliance across different regions, and liaise with payroll vendors efficiently.
- Address employee tax queries promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Manage payroll tax budgeting and forecasting processes effectively.
Ad Hoc Projects & Support:
- Collaborate on ad hoc projects to enhance global tax strategy and compliance standards.
- Provide assistance to various teams and clients on compliance-related matters for timely resolution.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 8 years of experience in global tax and compliance, with a focus on US regulations.
- Profound technical knowledge of US tax rules, including LLC requirements, combined with expertise in global tax regulations.
- Prior experience with multinational corporations; startup exposure is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to manage intricate global compliance schedules in a fast-paced environment independently.
- Excellent communication skills and adept at coordinating effectively with international teams and consultants.
