Description
Our client is a leading European dairy company supported by a prominent, farmer-owned food group renowned for its international brands and expertise in the industry. They are expanding their presence in China and seek a professional to oversee and drive commercial activities with a focus on e-commerce, ensuring consistent retail activation alignment, meticulous performance tracking, and sustainable market growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for e-commerce-driven commercial operations and establish a robust market platform in China
- Manage day-to-day commercial activities with appointed distributors in both retail and e-commerce sectors
- Ensure excellence in sales fundamentals such as distribution, product listings, brand representation, and execution accuracy
- Identify operational gaps, implement corrective measures, and enhance distributor capabilities through defined priorities and continuous follow-up
- Lead and coordinate e-commerce initiatives, including marketing campaigns, content quality, and platform enhancements
- Monitor and evaluate performance and return on investment using key performance indicators (KPIs), sharing insights and best practices with APAC and headquarters teams
- Provide market intelligence through store and platform assessments, structured reporting, and prompt risk escalation
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, focusing on commercial and sales functions
- Strong execution-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach to achieving goals
- Demonstrated track record in managing distributors in China, ensuring accountability and consistent follow-up
- Chinese nationality with fluent proficiency in business-level English
- Ability to collaborate effectively with international headquarters stakeholders and operate within regional governance frameworks
- In-depth knowledge of China's retail and e-commerce landscape, including agency relations, ROI evaluation, and performance metrics
- Prior experience in the dairy or chilled food sectors preferred
- Familiarity with European or global brands
- Keen brand acumen to translate brand strategies into high-quality in-market executions
- Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management skills
