Job Description:

In this role as a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, you will play a critical part within the finance department of Anchorage. You will be responsible for analyzing financial data, creating forecasts, and providing insights to support decision-making at both strategic and operational levels. Specifically, this role focuses on sales, utilizing financial analysis to drive sales performance, optimize strategies, and ensure alignment with the company's financial objectives and growth targets.
Responsibilities:
Technical Skills:
- Apply deep knowledge of Financial Planning & Analysis, particularly in Sales Forecasting, Performance Analysis, Sales Planning and Strategy, and Reporting.
- Develop financial models to generate actionable recommendations for strategic initiatives, such as new products, partnerships, pricing, and revenue expansion opportunities.
- Implement technology enhancements for systems like Oracle Netsuite, Pigment, and Salesforce.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Provide real-time insights to the Sales team, including financial information and monthly performance of sales representatives.
- Evaluate sales performance, identify variances, and determine factors influencing sales outcomes.
- Aid in the development of incentive programs and sales compensation structures aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the sales team to create accurate and achievable forecasts leveraging historical data, market trends, and upcoming initiatives.
- Create financial models, supporting recommendations for strategic initiatives like new products, pricing, partnerships, and revenue expansion opportunities.
- Analyze business results and operational data for actionable insights and accountability, including identifying risks and opportunities.
- Analyze sales pipelines, conversion rates, and customer trends to predict future sales performance.
- Perform sales trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement or growth.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Possess deep knowledge of Anchorage's strategic direction and actively engage with different groups to work on global strategy and find innovative approaches to deliver upon it.
- Promote shared understanding of the needs and strategic direction of the organization to rally teams. Implement programs, projects, and processes aligned with Anchorage's strategic direction and needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze historical and current spend, drive accountability, and identify cost improvement opportunities.
Communication and Influence:
- Generate regular reports and presentations for sales leaders and management, highlighting business performance and key sales metrics, trends, and actionable insights.
- Effectively communicate the financial implications of sales strategies and decisions to stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Design, optimize, and implement key operating metrics and processes to measure business performance and drivers against goals.
- Collaborate with People and Sales teams to define a fair and equitable sales compensation strategy.
- Adapt communication strategy to influence stakeholders and increase team productivity for projects with broad impact and priority.
Requirements:
- Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, investment banking, corporate finance, or accounting.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, ownership mentality, and desire to challenge the status quo.
- Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills and ability to effectively present analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP), financial analysis, and forecasting techniques.
- Experience with financial systems, including implementation and enhancement (Netsuite, Looker, Pigment preferred).
- Strategic thinking skills with proven ability to solve complex problems and pay attention to tactical and operational issues.
- Experience in developing complex financial models, presenting business plans, financial forecasts, and actionable insights.
- Experience analyzing sales and profitability metrics to drive future growth.
- Experience collaborating with Sales and People departments on sales compensation strategy.
Nice to Have:
- Experience analyzing large data sets using data warehouse and data visualization tools like Looker.
- Experience implementing an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tool.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting.
- Experience in the crypto or financial services industry with knowledge of blockchain and crypto innovations.
- Enthusiasm for the soundtrack of Hamilton, which highlights the founding of a new financial system.
Compensation at Anchorage Digital:
At Anchorage Digital, compensation is market-driven and data-informed. All full-time employees receive a competitive salary, meaningful equity, and a comprehensive perks and benefits package. Compensation ranges between $150,000 - $210,000 per year and will be finalized based on skills, abilities, and experience during the interview process. Benefits include 100% coverage for health, dental, and vision for employees and their dependents, as well as various other benefits offered globally.
