What you'll be responsible for: 

Circle is seeking an experienced leader to work alongside the Treasurer in developing and scaling a global Treasury Execution and Client Services function. This role encompasses managing balance sheet operations for various new product offerings, digital assets, and fiat operations. You will focus on streamlining and automating operational processes related to risk management and overall business operations. This position requires close collaboration with Product, Business, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to provide effective operational solutions that benefit our customers and shareholders. You will also oversee the development of robust processes and controls that surpass regulatory requirements. This is an opportunity to establish a strategic function that plays a vital role in fulfilling Circle's mission.

What you'll work on: 

  • Building and expanding a top-notch firmwide operations team to support continuous crypto and fiat flows.
  • Designing and implementing a global foreign exchange strategy for crypto and fiat operations.
  • Developing credit offerings for digital asset clients to further improve the stablecoin ecosystem's efficiency.
  • Managing balance sheet risks, including interest rates, exchange rates, and credit risks, as well as related hedging activities.
  • Supporting new product launches and business lines by creating resilient risk management processes, infrastructure, and financial risk mitigation strategies.
  • Providing operational expertise and support to the OTC market-making business, including asset custody, reporting, margin operations, and financial risk management.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls across end-to-end processes.
  • Establishing and managing a global network of transaction banking partners to facilitate stablecoin liquidity and enhance customer accessibility to local fiat on- and off-ramps.
  • Overseeing relationships with global financial service providers in the treasury space, such as transaction banking and financial market utilities.
  • Taking ownership of fiat operations, including fund flows, exception handling, reporting, and metrics.
  • Implementing automated operational and reconciliation processes to improve redundancy, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency.
  • Maintaining operational controls, policies, standards, and procedures for all operational activities.

What you'll bring to Circle:

  • 15+ years of full-time experience in treasury, banking, payments industry, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in team management, building teams, and leadership.
  • Previous experience in managing balance sheet risks and building and scaling operational functions.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Curiosity and interest in macroeconomics and business cycle modeling.
  • Knowledge and interest in the cryptocurrency and web3 ecosystems and their interaction with traditional finance.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills and/or basic computer programming (SQL, Python, AppScript, VBA, etc.).
  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.

Compensation ranges may vary for candidates residing in different locations.

Base Pay Range: $252,500 - $332,500

Annual Bonus Target: 30%

Equity & Benefits: In addition to base pay, we offer equity and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) contributions. We have a discretionary vacation policy, provide 10 days of paid sick leave per year, and offer 11 paid holidays per year for employees based in the U.S.
