Senior developer specializing in Smart Contracts and Next.js
## Technical Co-Founder / Founding Engineer — MilePact
MilePact is building a freelance marketplace where trust is *contract-grade from day one*. Most platforms start with profiles and messaging; we’re starting with the hardest part: **making client–freelancer work safer using escrow-backed agreements, clear delivery states, and reliable payment flows**.
### What we’re building
- **Smart-contract escrow agreements**
- Client & freelancer dashboards
- Job posting and proposal workflow
- Delivery → review → release → refund → dispute **state machine**
- Reputation tied to **completed contract outcomes**
- A marketplace experience that feels safer than informal hiring
This is early-stage. We’ll ship the **smallest excellent MVP** that makes money movement and agreement states trustworthy enough for real pilots.
### Who we’re looking for
A **founder-minded** engineer who can reason about product correctness and user trust when money is involved, and can:
- Think across **contracts + frontend + UX**
- Prefer **secure, focused systems** over over-engineering
- Find edge cases before users do
- Write tests that protect the business
- Communicate tradeoffs clearly
- Work well with ambiguity and iteration
- Take meaningful ownership (not just tickets)
Helpful background:
- Solidity / smart contract engineering (Foundry/Anvil preferred)
- TypeScript
- Next.js/React + Tailwind CSS
- Wallet flows (MetaMask, viem, wagmi)
- Security-minded payments/escrow/marketplace work
- Practical MVP product sense
### What you’ll work on
Early tasks may include:
- Hardening escrow contract lifecycle + failure handling
- Improving agreement state transitions
- Building clean local/testnet deployment flow
- Creating safer wallet + transaction UX
- Writing regression tests for money movement and edge cases
- Advising what’s MVP vs. later
- Reviewing architecture as the product grows
### How we evaluate fit
A **small paid technical assessment** ($150), designed to be focused:
- **Local project**: Next.js + Tailwind + Foundry
- **6–10 focused hours** within a **12–24 hour** calendar window
- You audit/improve the escrow flow, add tests, and submit via **pull request**
We’ll review for:
- Security/fund safety
- Product judgment
- Code quality + testing discipline
- Communication and founder-level prioritization
### How to apply
Send a short message with:
- Your relevant experience
- Links (GitHub/portfolio/shipped work)
- Any smart contract / fintech / marketplace / payment-related projects
- Why this problem interests you
Keep it simple—we care more about signal than a polished cover letter.
